The Fall River is my personal favorite of any waters to fish. The fishing is fun for beginners and experts with spring time mayfly hatches that are a blast to fish with plenty of opportunities for dry fly action. This river also offers great nymph fishing, dry fly, swinging and stripping flies. For most the ultimate Fall River experience is Fishing the Hexagenia that hatch about 20 to 30 minutes after sunset from late May to early July. The Hexagenia is that largest of the Mayfly species and provides opportunity to strip Hex nymphs earlier in the evening and then dry fly action once the hatch is in full swing. The Hexagenia hatch is truly an amazing experience that all enjoy.
Wild life is abundant on the Fall River. It is normal to see Bald Eagles, pelicans, hawks, ducks of various kinds, geese and deer. The water is crystal clear in the upper sections of this spring fed river, making it easy to see multiple pods of trout feeding consistently on the various daily hatches. The views of the backside of Mount Shasta are spectacular along with the mountains that surround the valley.
My Fall River boat is a new 1652 Lowe with level floor and offers great stability for 2 anglers to stand and cast.
